Bruce Chern designed and built the first self-loading, self-unloading round 10 bale deck in 1991. At that time, they could haul 10 or 12 large round bales. In 1994, Bruce designed and built a top loading system for the bale deck. Now a unit can haul up to 18 large round bales. After that, came the pup trailer. The decks built today are fundamentally the same as Bruce originally designed.
Golden View Fabricating Ltd. was incorporated in 1994. In 2002, Golden View Fabricating Ltd. sold the rights and patents to the bale deck systems to Cancade CBI Limited, Brandon, Manitoba. Cancade CBI Limited continues to build the decks today.
Bruce has and continues to work alongside Cancade CBI Ltd. in several different capacities over the years. But he has always had his “hands” in the bale decks and continues to be the sole contact for them.
